What is Temp Mail (Temporary / Disposable Email)?
Temp mail—also called temporary email, disposable email, burner email, or throwaway email—is a quick inbox that receives messages for a short time. It’s perfect when a website asks for an email address to send a verification code or confirmation link, but you’d rather keep your main address private.
How it works
- Generate a random address or create a custom username with one of our domains.
- Receive emails instantly; the inbox auto-refreshes and you can manually refresh anytime.
- Read messages safely—HTML is sanitized in your browser to prevent scripts from running.
- Expire—inboxes and messages are automatically deleted after a short lifetime.
Best uses for disposable email
- App trials, beta sign-ups, and newsletter previews.
- One-time logins or verification codes (2FA codes should still go to a secure inbox you control).
- Reducing spam and keeping your personal address private.
When you should NOT use temp mail
- Password recovery, banking, shopping receipts, medical or legal information.
- Anything you’ll need to access later—the inbox is short-lived.
Temp mail vs. regular email
A regular email account (Gmail, Outlook, iCloud) is persistent, personal, and secure for long-term communication. Disposable email is intentionally short-term and anonymous for quick checks and sign-ups. Using both gives you the best of privacy and convenience.
